Spread Love (10)

This is the Christmas edition and I had to post some tracks from my favorite holiday album, Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. For me, its the only Christmas album that doesn’t come across as being corny as hell. Its so jazzy and subtle and amazing and timeless, I am going to be playing this album this time of year for the rest of my life – no lie. I actually bought it last april when I was still living in LA, because they had just reissued it, and regardless of the weather and the time of year I was bumping it daily. I couldn’t decide which one track to post so I’m being generous and giving you two.

You should be generous and buy it for a loved one. Or for yourself.

Id just like to give a huge fuck off shout out to the Sub of all Dubs!! The best night in Leeds!! Its like no other rave you will ever experience. Len, Weynants, Green, Ruth and Nearski know what I’m talking about. For those asm bloggers who have not been, your always welcome to come and stay in Leeds to check it out. The irration steppaz sound system is second to none. You feel the sub bass through your entire body, its an audio-physical experience!!! If your down with your futuristic dubz played inna year 3000 style then put your skankin underpants on and get yourself down the West-Indian Center baby!! Below is the history of this epic night. BANs Don’t know!!

SubDub began life in 1998 by Leeds Promoters Simon Scott and Mark Salford and since then has become one of UK’s most succesful Dub Reggae clubs. Joining forces with good friend Mark Iration, who they knew from the dub scene, he injected his sound system and DJing experience to make what SubDub has become known for: PURE VIBES.

Based in it’s spiritual home of the Leeds West Indian Centre you can find Iration Steppas Sound System hosting the mainroom. Guests along the years have included Johnny Clarke, Horace Andy, Lee Perry, Mad Professor, Jah Shaka, Scientist, Jah Tubby’s, Zion Train, The Disciples, Bush Chemists, Twinkle Brothers, Channel One, King Earthquake, The Rootsman, Dreadzone, Smith & Mighty, King Shiloh, Aba Shanti and Alpha & Omega.
